Artist Statement
When I take an image, I consider how this work will affect the viewer in the same way that it affected me. In my photographs, I emphasize a variety of themes, but one of them, space, will always play a significant role. Giving the image room will help the viewer feel relaxed and personal. We, as humans, require space to adapt and grow, and works of art require space to flourish, thus we must respect and value all of our surroundings. It is through photographing subjects and objects that I am able to have something over which I have control and from which I may learn. The majority of my work includes elements of nature and objects, however I try to keep the goal of each image in mind. We as humans enjoy having a good time at night, watching the sunset and the moon light up the sky, which allows us to envision the unbelievable, but we also enjoy reflecting on the past and our youth. We can't believe we're here right now, which gives us a strange feeling. I found my own world to believe in, and I hope that you will find my art to be another world to believe in as well, and that you will trust the process that all of us are going through.
